How Soon do you need your passport?
You cannot get your passport here if you need it today! If you need your passport today or tomorrow you need to rush to an official passport agency and get in line. There are propbably no appointments available but you can try anyway: (337) 788-8881. The earlier you get there the sooner you'll get out but expect to spend your entire day there. You'll need to bring the requirements checklist. A line will form outside the agency. You will then given a number and enter a queue system to submit your application. Only a certain number of applications will be accpeted each day so get there early. You are not guaranteed to recieve your passport the same day. Passport reciepents must be physically present, including minors! Some "for-profit" companies offer passport service within 24 hours. If you need your passport within the next two weeks call right away to get an appointment (337) 788-8881. You can get your passport expedited at an agency. You will still need to go in person to an official passport agency but your line will be shorter. You'll need to bring the requirements checklist. Count on spending a few hours at the agency. Passport reciepents must be physically present, including minors! Some "for-profit" companies offer passport service within 24 hours.
If you can wait three weeks to get your passport you can get expedited service by mail.
Prepare everyting in the requirements checklist.
Write "EXPEDITE" clearly on the outside of the mailing envelope and mail the completed application to:

Passport book applications are accepted at the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court office on the second floor. Passport books are good for air, sea, or land travel. In order to obtain a passport book, the applicant must have the following:
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship, I.E.; a certified copy of your birth certificate.
- Proof of identity, I.E.; a valid driver's license and a copy front and back.
- One (1) passport photograph (studio picture, 2\"x2\").
- Fees are $110.00 for adults, age 16 and over (an adult passport is normally valid 10 years from the date of issue).
- Fees are $80.00 for children, age 15 and under (a child passport is normally valid 5 years from date of issue).
- Payable in check or money order to: U.S. Department of State
- A $25.00 application fee, payable by separate check, money order, or cash is due the Clerk of Court.
- Passport books generally take 6-8 weeks to process. There is an expedite process for an additional $60 plus overnight return shipping for $12.72. With this process, passports will be turned around in 10 working days with overnight mail from the post office.
- If you need to renew a passport book that has not expired, you may pick up a renewal application in our office. If your passport has expired, you will need to fill out a new application form and submit your expired passport. If you have lost your expired passport, you may still fill out an application for a new one.
- Children under the age of 16 require the signature of both parents or documentation as to why that is not possible.
- If you are submitting an out-of-state identification, you must provide two (2) photo identifications. Example, Driver's license, work I.D., government issued I.D, etc.
