How Soon do you need your passport?
You cannot get your passport here if you need it today! If you need your passport today or tomorrow you need to rush to an official passport agency and get in line. There are propbably no appointments available but you can try anyway: (410) 222-1434. The earlier you get there the sooner you'll get out but expect to spend your entire day there. You'll need to bring the requirements checklist. A line will form outside the agency. You will then given a number and enter a queue system to submit your application. Only a certain number of applications will be accpeted each day so get there early. You are not guaranteed to recieve your passport the same day. Passport reciepents must be physically present, including minors! Some "for-profit" companies offer passport service within 24 hours. If you need your passport within the next two weeks call right away to get an appointment (410) 222-1434. You can get your passport expedited at an agency. You will still need to go in person to an official passport agency but your line will be shorter. You'll need to bring the requirements checklist. Count on spending a few hours at the agency. Passport reciepents must be physically present, including minors! Some "for-profit" companies offer passport service within 24 hours.
If you can wait three weeks to get your passport you can get expedited service by mail.
Prepare everyting in the requirements checklist.
Write "EXPEDITE" clearly on the outside of the mailing envelope and mail the completed application to:

Passports are processed in the License Department. The License Department is located in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County 8 Church Circle, Room H101, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.
After you enter the courthouse, room H101 is located directly behind security. The Circuit Court is located in historic Annapolis on Church Circle. Parking meters are located on Calvert Street and West Street. Parking garages are located on Calvert Street, Northwest Street and Main Street.
The Clerk of the Court's License Department at the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County is a local Passport Acceptance Agency. We accept new adult and child applications and renewal of child applications Tuesday through Thursday between the hours 8:30 AM and 2:00 PM. For child applications, call 410-222-1434 and inquire about current requirements.
The Clerk's Office can take passport photographs for an additional $10 fee per person.
Passport Requirements Change Frequently

For efficient processing, it is highly recommended that you complete the application online (http://travel.state.gov/passport/forms/ds11/ds11_842.html), print it at home and bring the completed form and required documentation to our office. DO NOT SIGN THE FORM! It must be signed in the presence of an authorized deputy clerk.
You will need to bring up to two checks as the State Department will not accept cash payments.
Renewal of Adult Passports can be done by mail directly with the State Department if your most recent U.S. Passport. http://www.travel.state.gov/
